The FSQA Analyst role will primarily be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of sanitation programs, hygienic design, and maintaining a food-safe environment within our facilities. This position will focus on developing, implementing, and monitoring sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The Analyst will contribute to the continuous improvement of sanitation programs through data analysis, trend identification, and collaboration with site-level teams.

Detailed Responsibilities

Evaluation, Assessment, and Implementation of Sanitation System Documentation, Processes and Vendor Documentation

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current FSQA sanitation programs through data analysis, risk assessments, and collaboration with site teams.
  • Monitor and verify the effectiveness of sanitation processes, identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement for sanitation and food safety programs.
  • Collaborate with site FSQA teams to assess program compliance, provide support, and ensure consistent application of standards.
  • Manage and maintain accurate sanitation-related documentation, including Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), cleaning schedules, chemical handling records, and hygienic design evaluation.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and manage the approval process for sanitation chemicals, equipment, and new cleaning technologies.
  • Participate actively in internal and external audits (e.g., regulatory, third-party, customer) related to sanitation programs, providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Liaison Between Corporate and the Facility and Third Party Vendors to Address Performance Trends and Confirm Corrective and Preventive Actions

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Maintenance, Engineering) to optimize sanitation practices and resolve issues.
  • Develop and deliver effective sanitation training programs and materials for employees at all levels, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Prepare and present clear, concise reports and presentations on sanitation program performance, trends, and improvement initiatives to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present reports on FSQA program performance, trends, and improvement initiatives to stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement of FSQA Programs and Sanitation Processes and Systems

  • Analyze sanitation data, including microbial results and audit findings, to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for continuous improvement.
  • Lead and participate in root cause analysis investigations for sanitation failures or deviations, proposing and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest sanitation technologies, industry best practices, and evolving regulatory changes to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.

General Responsibilities:

  • Follow the facility GMPs and help enforce policies throughout the facility
  • Support the efforts of the company to maintain our food safety system (SQF) and quality programs

This position requires up to 25% travel.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability needed for this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

  • 2-4 years experience in quality assurance, sanitation, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, supply chain or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, food technology, microbiology, or related field preferred or 5+ years in food safety and quality assurance with a proven track record of success
  • Strong understanding of sanitation principles, practices, and current regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, FSMA).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and interact with diverse teams.
  • Ability to problem solve and work in a fast environment without a lot of structure and/or supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks/priorities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Previous experience with GFSI, FDA, and USDA inspections, programs, and expectations
  • Certifications: SQF, PCQI, HACCP, and ServeSafe Manager at time of hire or within 6 months of position
