This is a full-time role based in our HQ in Brooklyn, NY, with full exposure to building and scaling operations in a growth organization with all the complexity of an international supply chain.
You will be part of creating and implementing positive change in a growing organization, using your creativity, experience, and critical eye to identify hurdles and opportunities for helping the business scale. You will work on key infrastructure projects and develop your professional career tactically by honing key managerial skills. The immediate impact will be seen and felt through the desired results and KPI’s listed below.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the COO to establish and propel the organizational vision and operational strategy forward.
- Work closely with all members of the Operations organization to support all primary functions spanning production planning and procurement, international freight and logistics, order fulfillment, inventory management, final mile logistics, reverse logistics, aftersales support services, etc.
- Transform strategic initiatives into practical measures, fostering growth and operational efficiency.
- Supporting the COO in coaching, supporting, and growing the Operations team.
- Direct and supervise recruitment, onboarding, professional development, performance, and regulatory compliance processes.
- Work with Marketing, Customer Experience and Finance teams to ensure operational efficiency, communications and cross-functional alignment.
- Management of sales & operations planning processes (demand, supply, inventory).
- Constant appraisal and review of business systems, technologies, and processes.
- Implement LEAN processes and continuous improvement.
Desired Results & KPIs
KPI #1. Team development training and growth planning that directly contributes to highly proficient and effective execution. Increased effectiveness, communication, and timeliness.
Desired Result #2. Manage Logistics, Warehouse Mgmt., Inventory Mgmt., After Sales Support Services.
KPI #2. Develop systems and processes that directly contribute to revenue and profit growth across D2C and Retail channels. Managing POR, Inventory accuracy, Warehouse productivity, ASP service level, reducing order-to-delivery lead time and chargebacks.
Desired Result #3. Lead and manage ERP integrations, implementations, and management for improved data & KPI tracking
KPIs #3.Shortened lead times, heightened inventory visibility, and lowered operational costs. Less employee downtime. More of the business runs on a single system/source of the truth.
Desired Result #4. Coach, lead, support, and empower the current Operations Team.
KPI #4. Empowered Operations team to be bastions of operational excellence and continuous improvement. Increase effectiveness, communications, efficiency, and accuracy.
Desired Result #5. Map workflows and processes to develop, manage, and carry to completion various project plans
KPI #5. Workflow map creation, resulting in less downtime and increased productivity. Driving a proactive, focused team, reducing order-to-delivery lead time, and increased customer satisfaction.
Qualifications, Skills, Traits, and Competencies
- Experience developing a consumer goods brand's operational systems, policies, and processes.
- Operations demand planning experience for consumer goods.
- Experience with international freight and logistics.
- Strong experience and aptitude for implementing and maintaining business systems.
- ERP experience and proficiency (eg, NetSuite) is strongly desired and preferred.
- Must be good at building trust and developing buy-in from internal stakeholders.
- Must never settle. Constant improvement mentality.
- Team coaching and growth experience.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in a similar leadership position(s).
