This position is responsible for managing patient appointments, coordinating treatment plans, and facilitating clear communication between patients and dental professionals. The coordinator acts as a liaison to address patient inquiries, resolve scheduling conflicts, and provide detailed information about procedures and insurance coverage. By maintaining organized patient records and following up on treatment progress, the Patient Coordinator helps optimize clinic operations and patient satisfaction. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall efficiency and reputation of Cascade by fostering trust and professionalism in every patient interaction.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in a dental or healthcare office setting, particularly in patient coordination, front desk, or administrative roles.
- Basic knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency with scheduling software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and clinical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with dental insurance billing and claims processing.
- Familiarity with local healthcare regulations and patient privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA or equivalent).
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
- Advanced proficiency in office software such as Microsoft Office Suite and dental practice management software.
Responsibilities
- Check in patients and update information as needed using Denticon practice management software
- Perform opening and closing procedures for the practice, including turning on systems, checking voicemail and returning calls, checking emails and responding promptly, organizing reception areas and replacing magazines, reviewing schedules, and completing prep work for the following day
- Coordinate registration and account activation for new patients, including completion of the New Patient Relationship form for all patients
- Follow up on patient recall report, including sending postcards and making phone calls regarding appointments; completed appointment reminder calls

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour
